The name Syed Qasim Ali Shah is well-known among Pakistani academics. He was born in the Punjab district of Gujrat. His family afterwards relocated to Lahore. Qasim Ali Shah has been collecting and reading books since he was a toddler. Throughout his school and college years, he was an avid participant in debating tournaments. In addition, he operates the Qasim Ali Shah Academy in Lahore. He completed his intermediate studies at Government Islamia College, Civil Lines, Lahore. Qasim Ali Shah has an engineering background, having graduated from the University of Engineering and Technology in Lahore with a degree in Chemical Engineering. Later, he took the Central Superior Services (CSS) test and was hired by DMG, which is now known as Pakistan Administrative Services (PAS).
