Morris was fired from his position as a Fox Footy journalist on Thursday after a lea**ked Whatsapp conversation and a separate video surfaced showing him disparaging women, homose**xuals, Asians, and black people. The viral clips were first shared in a Whatsapp group before being lea**ked on Thursday afternoon. They are believed to have been recorded late last year.

“Fox Sports has stood down a reporter pending an investigation into an inappr**opriate audio recording,” a Fox Sports spokesperson said on Thursday. After sending the exchange to another mate, one of the members of the WhatsApp group later admitted that he was the one who made the audio clip public. He stated that his friend then shared the recording with a large number of people before one of them uploaded it to the internet.

“I am obviously willing to cop it from you boys re this,” the pal wrote to the Whatsgroup on Thursday night, according to the news outlet. I honestly did not expect a message to one of my friends to spread like this, but I’ve learned my lesson. It’s not an excuse, and I apologise.” Within an hour of being shared on social media, the video and audio clips had gone viral. The audio and video were lea**ked less than 24 hours after Morris was the target of a stunning outburst from Western Bulldogs coach Luke Beveridge in his post-match press conference following the team’s loss to Melbourne on Wednesday night.

Beveridge chastised Morris for an accurate report about Bulldogs premiership midfielder Lachie Hunter being dropped for the season opener in an all-time verbal barrage. Beveridge stormed out of his press conference after a remarkable 3-minute tirade in which he referred to Morris as a “gutter reporter.” “You have the audacity to ask me a question and even come here,” Beveridge said in response to Morris’s question about the pre-game drama.
