According to the latest reports, Manchester United star Bruno Fernandes survived a car accident this morning with serious injuries. After an accident involving his Porshe too close to the club’s Carrington training base, the 27-year-old midfielder Fernandes was unharmed and is expected to train as usual today. The other parties involved in the crash, which is thought to have occurred near the player’s Cheshire home, are also believed to be unharmed. Photos from the scene have emerged, showing a £90,000 vehicle damaged on the driver’s side, as well as two cars battered down a narrow road.

The second car, a Volkswagen, appears to have collided with a fence, the driver’s door dangling open. The tarmac was also littered with debris. The front airbags appear to have exploded, and the right-hand wheel was badly buckled and pressed against the frame, which had large scuff marks. The collision also threw emergency crews for a loop. Fernandes can also be seen standing on the side of the road with his smashed-up luxury car in pieces in front of him in another photo shared on social media.

In his pre-match press conference this afternoon, United interim manager Ralf Rangnick stated that no one was injured in the collision and that Fernandes is fit to face Liverpool. “Yes, he’s training with the team,” Rangnick said. “Obviously, the accident happened on the way to Carrington, but nobody was hurt as far as I know.” He worked out with the team, he was fine, and he’ll be fine tomorrow.” Fernandes’ accident happened the day before his team’s Premier League match against Liverpool.

Since joining Sporting Lisbon in January 2020, he has made a significant contribution to the club, scoring 49 goals in 120 appearances. In 40 games this season, he has scored 9 goals and added 14 assists. Fernandes played 90 minutes in United’s 3-2 win over Norwich at the end of last week and is expected to start tomorrow’s match at Anfield. This month, it was announced that he had signed a four-year contract extension at Old Trafford, which saw his weekly salary double to around £240,000.

In the year 2020, he won four Premier League Player of the Month awards, making him the first player to do so in a calendar year. United is currently in fifth place in the Premier League, three points behind fourth-placed Tottenham. With a win over Liverpool, they will be level on points with Spurs in the race for the final Champions League qualifying spot, despite having played one more game.
