Kyle Hamilton, a popular American footballer, had to wait a little longer than expected to hear his name called in the 2022 NFL Draft, but the ex-Notre Dame star was selected with the No. 14 overall pick in the first round by the Baltimore Ravens. Since Jerry Tillery in the year 2019, he is the first Notre Dame player to be drafted in the first round. He had a productive three-year career in South Bend, accumulating 138 total tackles, eight interceptions, and sixteen pass breakups in 31 games (19 starts).

“I just want to start off by greeting family who is here; my mother, Jackie, my brother Tyler, and my father Derek, as well as my girlfriend, Resse,” he said in his opening statement. It’s the same with a fantastic organization. I was just talking to a coach about how we’d look back in ten years and realize it was the perfect match and everything happened for the right reasons… I believe so, and I believe I can simply add to that and fill those shoes.”

Kyle Hamilton’s handshake with his girlfriend after being drafted goes viral on social media.

Kyle Hamilton of Notre Dame celebrated with his friends and family before heading to the Las Vegas stage when the Ravens selected him with the No. 14 pick on Thursday night. The safety and his longtime girlfriend viewed off their handshake instead of embracing and kissing their love of life, as most prospects do when they are drafted. And it wasn’t just any handshake. Theirs had a lot of steps and ended with a dab. The video quickly went viral on social media, prompting many people to refer to the celebration as “Couple Goals.”

Hamilton immediately left after the handshake to go get his Ravens hat and jersey from NFL commissioner Roger Goodell. Hamilton described how he and his girlfriend, Reece, made the handshake during the Raven press conference. They’ve been together for nearly six years.
