The Supreme Court has ruled that the Deputy Speaker’s vote was invalid and that the Assembly should be reinstated.

The Supreme Court of Pakistan issued its ruling, declaring the National Assembly Speaker’s dismissal of Prime Minister Imran Khan’s no-confidence motion unconstitutional.

A unanimous decision was announced by a five-member bench led by Pakistan’s Chief Justice Umar Ata Bandial. The court also announced that on Saturday, April 9, the dissolved National Assembly will be restored and a vote on the no-confidence motion will be held.
