He’s a foul-mouthed, se**x-addicted ex-junkie comic whose outrageous stunts have earned him a reputation as a scourge of the Establishment.
She is the privileged daughter of one of Britain’s wealthiest and most powerful families, a royal friend, and the mother of two teenage sons.
So it’s no surprise that Russell Brand’s new relationship with Jemima Khan has devastated her family and friends.
Russell and Kate Moss reconnected at a charity party in London in June after being introduced by Russell’s ex-lover Kate Moss seven years ago.
Jemima, who was previously married to Pakistani cricketer-turned-politician Imran Khan, is so enamored with Russell that she has told friends that she wants to spend the rest of her LIFE with him.
“He is absolutely wrong on every level,” a source close to her said, “but she looks like a little girl giddy with love.” She just flew to New York to be with him.
Jemima was born into a wealthy family. Her father, Sir James Goldsmith, was a late billionaire tycoon, and her mother, Lady Annabel, is the daughter of the Marquess of Londonderry. Zac, her brother, is a Tory MP.
Russell, on the other hand, was born to an Ess**ex photographer and divorced when he was a baby.
“Jemima’s mother must be worried, and her ex-husband must be terrified,” the source continued. This is a guy who has notches in his bedpost and has no qualms about spilling intimate details about his girlfriends to the world.
“Annabel recognizes his charisma and se**xiness, but she is concerned that he is also dangerous and could break her heart.”
“All she knew about Russell Brand was the horrible incident with Jonathan Ross and the phone call to Andrew Sachs.”

Russell, 38, was dubbed “Rasputin” by his ex-wife, pop star Katy Perry, after their two-year marriage ended last year.
After a phone call about the Hoping Foundation, a charity that helps Palestinian refugees in which they were both involved, he asked Jemima, 39, out on a date.
Sir Philip Green, the founder of Topshop, paid £60,000 to watch Kate Moss kiss Jemima in 2006 to raise money for the charity. Kate, who dated Russell briefly that year, introduced them, but Jemima was dating actor Hugh Grant at the time. The two stayed in touch through the charity, and they met in London in June this year at the Hoping Foundation Rock On party.
“Russell was actually with another woman,” our source said, “but he and Jemima chatted for a while and agreed to talk about the charity.”
“He called her, and they talked for about an hour.” Jemima appreciated that he wasn’t impressed by her name or connections, and that he was making jokes and treating her like a regular girl.
“Within days, they went on a date, and she was completely hooked.” Russell is incredibly intelligent and charming. He is an extraordinary modern-day hero, she believes.
“He wants to take her to India and try to convert her to Buddhism.” They talk about doing a lot of great charity work for various countries.
“He’s completely open about his previous heroin addiction, all the women he’s slept with, and he’s even given her his memoir, My Booky Wook, so she can learn everything there is to know about him.”
“She’s never met anyone even close to him, and he makes her feel fantastic.”
She’s also never met anyone who is as daring in bed as she is. He’s all she can think about. She simply states that he checks all the boxes.
“Her mother is trying not to show her fear because she doesn’t want to push her into his arms any further.” She’s trying to be as pleasant as possible, but any mother would be terrified of Russell Brand snatching their precious child.

Russell has been invited to Annabel Goldsmith’s home in Petersham, Surrey, near Richmond. It is the home where Princess Diana, a close friend, used to retreat and where her brother, Zac, and Jemima’s sons, Sulaiman, 16, and 14-year-old Kasim, are frequent visitors.
The encounter appears to be a fascinating prospect. Russell’s recent revelations about having to imagine being with other women when he had s**ex with Katy Perry, as well as his jibes about their lavish wedding in India, have enraged women, including Katy herself.
“He’s hysterical in some ways,” she explained, “until he started making jokes about me and didn’t realize I was in the audience because I’d come to surprise him at one of his shows.”
