In the Faqeerabad neighbourhood of Attock, police have detained a religious instructor who is accused of murdering and raping his 10-year-old pupil.
The accused Imran, who leads prayers at Jamia Masjid Bilal and memorises the Quran, is from Kohat but has lived in Attock for a considerable amount of time.
The accused allegedly used to visit people’s homes to instruct their children. One of them was the murdered girl. The accused taught the victim Quran at her home on the day of the incident.
The accused is accused of having rap*ed the minor before killing her and dumping her body in the former Faqeerabad funeral home. The accused broke the victim’s backbone during the sexual as*sault before hitting her with a brick.
Later, when police detained him on suspicion and he confessed, he also began looking for the missing girl with her family. The accused went on to admit that he had also murdered and raped two girls in the Kohat district.
The victim’s family has requested justice on their behalf and that the accused receive exemplary punishment from the high authority.
