PSL 7: Brook’s 48-ball, Lahore Qalandars to a comfortable win over Islamabad United

Hary Brooks hit his first T20 century to help Lahore Qalandars beat Islamabad United by 66 runs in the 27th match of the seventh edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) at Gaddafi Stadium.

Qalandars chose to bat first and lost three fast wickets, but Fakhar Zaman, as always, steadied his team’s sinking ship, which reached 197-6 in 20 overs.

This time, the left-handed batsman teamed up with Brook, who finished with a strong century knock. Fakhar scored 51 runs, which included four boundaries and a six.

Brook, on the other hand, was in a different attitude this time. The 22-year-old Englishman batted for 102 runs, hitting 10 boundaries and five sixes. The young man dazzled the full Gaddafi Stadium by smacking the ball all over the place.

Faheem Ashraf took three wickets for United, while Zahir Khan and Liam Dawson each took one.

In response, United was unable to get things going as rapidly as they had previously in the campaign. Qalandars were able to defend their goal thanks to two wickets apiece from Shaheen Shah Afridi, Zaman Khan, Rashid Khan, and Haris Rauf.

United’s Liam Dawson (31) and Danish Aziz (30*) fought hard, but their efforts were in vain owing to a large target on the scoreboard. Danish hit four boundaries and a six, while Dawson hit four boundaries and a six.
