The Lahore District Court has issued an arrest warrant for singer Meesha Shafi in connection with a social media campaign against actor and singer Ali Zafar.
Judicial Magistrate Ghulam Murtazahas issued bailable arrest warrants for Meesha Shafi and co-accused Mahim Javed in the Federal Investigation Agency case (FIA).
The court stated that if Ali Zafar’s counsel did not provide arguments on the outstanding petitions at the next hearing, the decision would be made based on the prosecutor’s arguments.
Iffat Omar, Faizan Raza, Haseem-ul-Zaman, Fareeha Ayub, Ali Gul, and Leena Ghani, the case’s nominated defendants, concluded their presence.
On Ali Zafar’s accusation, the FIA initiated a case against eight people, including Meesha Shafi. The FIA said in the claim that Meesha Shafi and the other accused conducted a se**xual harassment campaign against Ali Zafar on social media. The defendants were unable to produce substantial evidence in their defence.
