Haleem Adil Sheikh, according to sources, has been relocated to an unspecified place.

Haleem Adil Sheikh, the head of the opposition in the Sindh Assembly, had previously been granted transit bail by the Peshawar High Court until June 25 in connection with two cases of rioting and violence reported in Karachi during the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Azadi Insaf’s March on Islamabad last month.

Mr. Sheikh’s two petitions were accepted by Justice Roohul Amin Khan of a single-member bench in exchange for submitting two surety bonds totaling Rs500,000 each.

He gave the petitioner until June 25 to appear before the relevant Karachi court.

The petitioner appeared in court while the lawyers were on strike and claimed that he and other PTI leaders were named in two “politically-motivated” cases.

On his return from Peshawar, he was worried that Karachi police would detain him.

Mr. Sheikh asked the court to grant him transitory or protective bail so he could appear before the appropriate Karachi court.

A case was filed against Mr. Sheikh last month on the suspicion of stealing land.
