During a livestream, see Kimmikka’s viral video

Kimmikka Twitch users are incensed that a streamer who broadcast an extremely NSFW stream was banned for a week. One of the biggest platforms in the world, Twitch, enables anyone to broadcast their activities to the entire internet so long as they haven’t already been banned from it. They may occasionally be seen engaging in video game play, watching YouTube videos, hosting elaborate productions, or simply live-blogging their daily lives. It’s a very potent service that has seen its share of contentious situations over the years. Hot tub streams started to become more popular in 2021 alone, and there was also a significant leak that revealed streamers’ payouts.

Twitch users have long complained about the platform’s inconsistent bans, and now a number of well-known creators are once more raising the issue. Kimmika_, a Twitch streamer, was banned for a week after engaging in se*xual activity live. Viewers may have thought the streamer’s odd posture in relation to their desk and the head of a man they could see behind her were strange, but there was a window reflecting everything on her side, so little was left to the viewers’ imaginations.

After observing this, former Twitch streamer Jidion6 accused the platform of “se*xism” and “favoritism,” noting that while he was permanently banned after performing a hate raid on Pokimane, a streamer engaging in se*xual activity was only suspended for seven days. Since then, Jidion6 and Pokimane have patched things up and are now friends, but he is still barred from the platform. Jidion6 then made a YouTube video about the problem and instigated the hashtag #TwitchRespond to call for a public statement from Twitch.

Twitch hasn’t yet made a statement about the situation as of right now. Twitter users who use Twitch are venting their frustration over the inconsistent application of bans across the platform. Although this has been a problem for a while, this incident has generated more outrage than ever.
What do you think about Twitch’s approach to bans?
