Dr Nosheen case is being investigated by JIT
LARKANA The Sindh government has formed a Joint Investigation Team (JIT) to look into the strange death of medical student Dr Nosheen Kazmi at Larkana University’s ladies’ dormitory.
According to a notice, Senior Superintendent Police (SSP) Larkana will lead the JIT, which would include two Station House Officers (SHOs) and five police officers, to investigate Kazmi’s murder. The investigating team will submit a progress report on the murder case to SSP Larkana on a daily basis.
Previously, Professor Hakim Abro, Vice-Chancellor of the Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Medical University (SMBBMU) Larkana, ordered that all men at the university undergo DNA testing to aid in the investigation of Dr Nosheen Kazmi’s murder.
Professor Hakim Abro has asked the university’s registrar to compile a list of all male students, and police will make plans to conduct all DNA testing.
The decision was made after it was revealed that one individual is responsible for the murders of two medical students – Dr Nosheen Kazmi and Dr Namrata Chandani – at a ladies’ hostel in Larkana. The forensic investigation produced a surprising finding, showing that the two medical students were killed by the same perpetrator. s
According to a forensic report provided by a Jamshoro laboratory, samples recovered from both victims corresponded with the DNA profile of one male. Dr. Nosheen’s body and clothing samples have “50 percent alleles” in common with a male DNA profile discovered in Dr. Nimrita.
Dr Nimrita Chandani, a 25-year-old dentistry student at the Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto (SMBB) Medical University, was discovered dead in her dormitory room on September 16, 2019. Despite her family’s displeasure, her death was ruled a suicide.
Two years later, the body of Dr Nosheen Kazmi, a fourth-year student at the same institution, was discovered in the females’ hostel. She allegedly committed suicide as well.
