Dhanush and Aishwarya Rajnikanth announced their divorce in a social media post!
On January 17, Tamil actor and musician Dhanush turned to social media to announce his divorce from wife Aishwaryaa Rajnikanth. After 18 years of marriage, he wrote,
18 years of togetherness as friends, couple, as parents and well wishers to each other. The journey has been of growth, understanding, adjusting and adapting. Today we stand at a place where our paths separate..Aishwaryaa and I have decided to part ways as a couple and take time to understand us as individuals for the better. Please do respect our decision and give us the needed privacy to deal with this.
However, it appears that this is only a temporary separation and not a divorce. Dhanush’s father, director Kasthuri Raja, disputed that the couple will split. He referred to their split as a “family squabble.” During an interview with a local newspaper, he stated that they divorced due to the regular disagreements that occur between a married pair.
He added,
Dhanush and Aishwaryaa are not in Chennai at present. Both are in Hyderabad. I spoke to both of them over the phone and gave them some advice.
Dhanush and Aishwarya married on November 18, 2004. Yatra and Linga, their two kids, were born in 2006 and 2010, respectively. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is Rajnikanth’s elder daughter.
