CCTV footage has lea**ked of a deadly blast at the Jamia Masjid of Kocha Risaldar in Peshawar’s Qissa Khawani Bazaar.
According to reports, a suicide bomber detonated his device during Friday prayers at the mosque, killing 30 people and injuring many more.
People may be seen coming at the Jamia Masjid for Friday prayers on CCTV footage. Outside the mosque, the assailant began fire. The assailant was dressed in black.
The bomb was also confirmed as a suicide by SSP Operations, after which a police search and strike operation was launched, and the area was closed off. The bomber detonated his device in front of a police station in the early afternoon, killing two officers and injuring three more. There has been no claim of responsibility for the incident.
According to the CCPO, two assailants opened fire on police officers on duty while attempting to enter the Jamia Masjid at Kocha Risaldar in Qissa Khawani Bazaar, according to preliminary reports. Following the attack on the police team, a loud explosion erupted at the Jamia Masjid, injuring and killing a number of people.
On Friday, the death toll from the deadly bombing inside a mosque in Peshawar’s Kocha Risaldar district had grown to 56, with another 194 people injured.
