According to a statement made by the police, two of Sonali Phogat’s friends gave her alcohol during a party just before she passed away. In connection with the murder of Phogat, they are both charged. At a party held at a restaurant in Anjuna, the accused were both seen adding “some chemical substance,” according to Inspector General of Police Omvir Singh Bishnoi.
Along with Phogat, the arrested suspects Sudhir Sangwan and Sukhwinder Singh traveled to Goa on August 22. According to Bishnoi, the accused admitted giving Phogat drugs at the Anjuna restaurant in North Goa during questioning by the police.
