CCTV footage of blast near Fatima Jinnah Road Quetta gone viral

On Tuesday, three police officers were killed and 25 others were injured near a police van on Quetta’s Fatima Jinnah Road, according to police officials.

Following the explosion, security and emergency personnel rushed to the scene. According to police sources, the injured were taken to Civil Hospital Quetta and the area was cordoned off.

Dr Waseem Baig, a spokesman for the Quetta Civil Hospital, confirmed the deaths, adding that six people are in serious condition.

Officials noted that the nature of the blast will be determined once forensic experts have collected all of the material from the scene. Rescue workers doused tall flames at the bomb site, according to television footage.

Meanwhile, the event was sharply criticised by Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Abdul Qudoos Bizenjo. He also told hospitals to declare an emergency and to make sure that all physicians and paramedics were on hand.

“In a terrorist incident, cowardly terrorists targeted innocent individuals,” he said, adding that “efforts are being made to disrupt peace in Quetta and the province under a well-thought-out scheme.”

Terrorists and their sponsors were receiving “external help,” according to the chief minister, who ordered the IG to provide a full report on the incident.

“All resources should be used to bring those guilty for the act to justice,” the chief minister stated, ordering orders to improve the city’s security preparations.
