An HIV-positive woman was arrested for se**xually assaulting her nephew

According to Indian media, a 23-year-old HIV-positive woman was arrested for allegedly se**xually assaulting her 15-year-old nephew with the intent of infecting him with the virus.

According to Indian media, police officials in Uddham Singh Nagar, Uttarakhand, said the woman was arrested after the boy’s family filed a complaint, and she was then brought before a local court, where she was sentenced to prison on Sunday.

According to the Times of India, Sub-inspector Reeta Chauhan, who is investigating the case, the woman se**xually assaulted the boy last month, just days before Holi, a Hindu religious festival.

“In December of last year, her husband died of AIDS, and she returned to her village in Pilibhit, Uttar Pradesh. Her nephew, the victim, had gone there last month around Holi as part of a mourning ritual. Before he returned home, she se**xually assaulted him several times,” Chauhan said.

“On March 30, the woman returned to Udham Singh Nagar to see the boy,” the sub-inspector said, adding, “she se**xually assaulted him on several occasions.” If the boy told anyone, she threatened him with dire consequences.”

The woman was “filled with envy” because, while her husband died of AIDS and she, too, was infected, her husband’s brother’s family appeared to be in good health, according to Indian media. The boy was her husband’s older brother’s son.”

The woman was apprehended by the victim’s mother on April 2 while allegedly threatening him. “The mother confronted him, shocked. The ordeal was then recounted by him. Both parents filed a complaint against the woman on the same day,” Chauhan added.

Police charged her with “malignant act likely to spread infection of any disease dangerous to life” and “aggravated se**xual assault” under Sections 270 of the IPC and 5 and 6 of the POCSO Act, respectively, based on the complaint.
