THARPARKAR: Massive coal resources were discovered at the Thar Coal Block-1 site following the completion of an excavation project co-managed by the Pakistani government and a Chinese business, according to ARY News on Monday.
Coal miners’ efforts have paid off in Sindh province, where a massive coal supply was located below 145 metres during the excavation project of the Thar Coal Block-1 site, which was finished on Monday morning.
According to experts, the Thar Coal Block-I coal reserves are comparable to 3 billion to 5 billion barrels of crude oil.
According to the government, yearly production in the first phase is expected to be 7.8 million tonnes. The Thar Coal Block-I project was evaluated as part of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah commended the public on the finding of coal deposits in Tharparkar, calling it the provincial government’s second-largest triumph. Block one of the Thar Coal Field contains coal resources of up to 3 billion tonnes, which is equivalent to 5 billion barrels of crude oil.
