The Sindh High Court (SHC) on Wednesday (April 24) ordered the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) to complete investigation and to submit the report against Sindh Assembly Speaker Agha Siraj Durrani, by May 29.
The court further asked how many illegal cars Durrani owns, to which the NAB investigator said, “Durrani has bought 25 cars illegally.” At this, Durrani’s lawyer stated that his client is in prison and that the court should have a bail hearing. To this, the court said, “Here we have people lying in prisons for years.”
National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Feb 20 arrested Sindh Assembly Speaker Agha Siraj Durrani from a private hotel in three cases pertaining to illegal appointments, assets beyond means and embezzlement of funds. Last year in July, NAB had approved an inquiry against Sindh Assembly speaker Agha Siraj Durrani over various allegations of corruption.
