Punjab Governor Chaudhry Sarwar has been removed from his position by Govt

The federal government has unexpectedly removed Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar as Governor of Punjab.

Fawad Chaudhry, the Federal Minister of Information and Broadcasting, said on Sunday that the new appointee would be announced later.

The minister went on to say that the acting Governor of Punjab will be the Deputy Speaker of the Punjab Assembly.

According to a private television channel, Punjab Governor Chaudhry Sarwar was fired because of backdoor contacts with the Aleem Khan group.

Chaudhry Sarwar Aleem, the Prime Minister was informed, was a supporter of the group.

Governor Punjab Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar took the oath of office on September 5, 2018, as previously reported. In 2013, Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar was also appointed Governor of Punjab.

On January 29, 2015, Punjab Governor Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar resigned from his position. He stated during the press conference that he would be the first Pakistani and Muslim to be elected to the British Parliament.
