Soon after competing inquiry into alleged corruption in construction of Alpuri Road in KP’s Shangla district, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Monday (May 13) arrested son of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Provincial President in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P),’Ameer Muqam’. A case has also been registered against accused.
According to details, Muqam’s son Ishtiaq among five contractors were arrested by the FIA. The Anti-Corruption Wing also recommended departmental action against 11 officials of the National Highway Authority. FIA also recommended to black list Amir Muqam and company. The company had to complete the project in one year’s time at the cost of Rs850 million, but it is yet to be completed even after 10 years with the cost exceeding Rs2800 million, the sources elaborated.
In a statement issued from Makkah, where he is currently performing Umrah, Muqam said that he was not afraid of any inquiry. In his reaction, Muqam termed it as a political victimization and said that registration of the case against his son and company is “baseless propaganda and mockery of the law”.
