Prime Minister Imran Khan (April 26) on Friday delivered key note speech in opening session of Second Belt and Road Forum in Beijing. Chinese President Xi Jinping opened the event and said Xi said BR projects need to be transparent and fiscally sustainable.
During the speech PM Imran said that Pakistan is making strategies and efforts to curb white collor crime from the country. He also said that Pakistan and China are successfully moving towards next phase of China Pakistan Economic Corridor. PM Imran said that Belt and Road Forum is an important source of connectivity adding that Pakistan wants to promote cooperation with China in agriculture, health and education sectors.
Imran Khan reached in Beijing on Thursday (April 25) night on a four-day official visit to China. Upon arrival at Beijing, the prime minister was received by Ms. Li Lifeng, Deputy Secretary-General, Beijing Municipal Committee of CPPCC, Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan H.E. Mr. Yao Jing and Ambassador of Pakistan to China Mr. Masood Khalid.
Another prominent feature of Imran Khan’s visit to Beijing will be the signing of the second phase of Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between Pakistan and China. Special measures are being contemplated under the agreement to safeguard interests of the Pakistani industries while promoting trade with China.Xi Jinping
