Miss Peru Janick Castillo and Miss Brazil Julia Gama were beaten out of the top three by Miss Mexico, who was crowned Miss Universe 2020.

Andrea Meza of Mexico was elected Miss Universe 2020 at the pageant’s final, which was held at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida.
The Mexican beauty defeated 74 other women from their respective nations.
Meza, who has a career in digital engineering, won the final two with Miss Brazil on Sunday, when the announcer yelled, “Viva Mexico!”
Meza made her debut as Miss Universe 2020 after being crowned by the previous winner of the prestigious title.
Tunzi, who has held the Miss Universe crown since December 2019, is a public relations expert who became the pageant’s first Black woman from South Africa. Last year’s ceremony was cancelled due to the pandemic.
Olivia Culpo, the 2012 Miss Universe, and Mario Lopez of “Access Hollywood” hosted the event. The case was live-streamed from Hollywood, Florida.
Paula M. Shugart, President of the Miss Universe Organization, reported that months of meticulous preparation were involved, and the rules followed were close to the November 2020 Miss USA competition held in Memphis.
