The PTI is holding a public rally in Karachi today at Bagh-e-Jinnah, where party chairman Imran Khan will speak. He has reached the stage and will begin his speech shortly.
Today’s jalsa is one of the PTI’s many public gatherings planned in the aftermath of Prime Minister Imran Khan and his federal government being deposed by a no-trust motion filed by the joint opposition in the lower house of Parliament.
Imran Khan arrived in Karachi in a charter plane earlier in the evening and was greeted by Imran Ismail, former National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser, and other leaders.
While speaking to the audience, former interior minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed stated that Imran Khan will depose the current imported government before May 31.
He told the country’s military that they were on his side. “Imran Khan must be brought back… If that doesn’t happen, we’ll have to fill every prison,” he added.
Rashid claimed that four months ago he advised Imran Khan to declare a state of emergency, dissolve all legislatures, and impose governor’s rule in provinces.
The speeches of various PTI leaders are still going on.
