Imran Khan, the former Prime Minister of Pakistan and the leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has claimed that the allegations of corruption levelled against Farhat Shehzadi alias Farah Khan were false and that the case against her was completely false.
Farah Khan, the ousted prime minister, revealed at a press conference in Islamabad that he had been in the real estate business for 20 years. “My wife Bushra Bibi has no bank account,” he continued.
Farah Khan is Bushra Bibi’s closed fried. This is the first time Imran Khan has spoken out about Farah Khan’s allegations of corruption.
The PTI Chairman also revealed that his former wife, Jemima Goldsmith, had been charged with smuggling antique tiles. He went on to say that the purpose of bringing these cases is to attack him, and that Farah is innocent.
“It was implied Farah’s wealth grew exponentially over the last three years, and his real estate business generated a lot of money,” he said.
“The National Accountability Bureau is said to be independent. First and foremost, I inquire as to whether or not a case can be made against Farah Khan by the National Accountability Bureau.” Imran inquired.
He clarified that the term “wealth beyond known sources of income” only refers to those who hold public office.
Imran went on to say that the case was built on the fact that Farah’s husband was a union council official from 1997 to 1999.
“At the time, she [Farah] wasn’t even married to him.” He retorted, “How did they book her in the case?”
The PTI chairman poked fun at the ruling party, claiming that former President Parvez Musharraf was the one who gave them the first NRO. He stated that people should be aware of the magnitude of the loss to the country.
He predicted that the PML-N and PPP would “end all the cases against themselves,” resulting in yet more oppression.
“They [the PML-N and the PPP] will give themselves NRO-2 in order to put an end to the corruption cases against them.” “Both of them settled the cases brought against them,” he said.
Imran stated that he intends to use the white paper to present the cases against the PML-N and PPP leaders to the nation.
He claims that all of the cases these politicians are facing date from 2008 to 2018, whereas there was only one graft case worth Rs16 billion during the PTI regime.
They allegedly use money in the media, according to Imran Khan. “Now you’re aware of the media’s nefarious plans.” If someone refuses to take their side, the mafia will put pressure on them,” he said.
“He was arrested from the airport to be sent to jail,” the former prime minister said of Rashid Shafique, a nephew of the former interior minister. It is a heinous act, and it will be even more heinous if a person is detained at an airport.”
“We will gather people in Islamabad and it will be peaceful,” Imran Khan added, adding that “for the first time in history, women and children will also participate in the long march.”
