The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Friday (April 19) conducting a raid on residence of former water and power secretary Shahid Rafi and arrest him in the rental power projects corruption case. NAB team also seized important documents from his house.
The former federal secretary was shifted to the NAB Rawalpindi office after arrest. He is expected to be presented before an accountability court today where NAB will seek his physical remand.
Former prime minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf is another accused in rental power case. The RPP case pertains to private power companies that faced allegations of having received more than Rs22 billion mobilisation advance from the government to commission the projects, but failed to set up any plants.
