Farewell Ceremony Held in Honor of Tehmina Janjua
A farewell ceremony, attended by senior officials of Foreign Office and a large number of foreign diplomats and ambassadors, was held at Foreign Office in Islamabad on Friday (April 12) in honor of outgoing Foreign Secretary Tehmina Janjua.

Addressing the ceremony, Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi lauded Janjua for her contributions in progress of Pakistan and said “I have seen her work Sundays, late hours, holidays; I mean [she is] alien to limitation, I think she is an inspiration,” he said. “I wish you well wherever you go, and I am not just saying that because it’s polite — everyone knows I can be quite blunt — I am saying that because I mean it,” Qureshi concluded.

Janjua also thanked the the foreign minister and said “Thank you very much, foreign minister, for those very kind words and those very warm words. It’s been absolutely wonderful working with you. You may not have agreed with me many times but you decided to agree. We have had our arguments but they always end[ed] up with the best results,” she said.

Ealier Qureshi while talking to journalist in Multan announced that Pakistan’s High Commissioner to India Sohail Mahmood will assume charges as new Foreign Secretary on 16th April after the superannuation of incumbent foreign secretary Tehmina Janjua.
