Police have reported that a Russian social media star was found dead inside a suitcase in her apartment with her throat slit.
Ekaterina Karaglanova, who had more than 85,000 Instagram followers, was discovered dead from knife wounds in her Moscow apartment on Friday.
According to the Russian newspaper Moskovsky Komsomolets, the 24-year-old, who had just started a new relationship and had just graduated as a doctor, was planning a vacation to the Netherlands to celebrate her birthday (MK).
When they were unable to reach her in the days before her trip, her parents became worried and requested access to her apartment from the landlord.
The suitcase was in the hallway when they got there.
Police reported that there was no sign of a struggle and that no weapon was found at the crime scene.
In addition, they mentioned that her ex-boyfriend had been captured on camera in the days prior to the discovery, though they would not say whether this was a line of inquiry.
According to MK, her ex-boyfriend has now left the country.
