Shuklapur village in Uttar Pradesh has a special temple dedicated to ‘Corona Mata’. The temple has been built by a group of villagers after collecting donations. The temple has a simple notice for devotees: Use mask, wash your hands and maintain distance. Only yellow colour flowers, fruits, sweets and others are allowed as offering. Devotees follow all the covid-19 protocols while offering prayers. Villagers believe that ‘corona mata’ will ward off covid-19. However, not only ‘prasad’ was physically offered by the priest, but devotees also flouted all COVID norms.
