Aleem Khan Should be Granted Bail: Fawad
Days after Lahore High Court (LHC) suspended Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Hanif Abbasi’s life sentence, Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry on Saturday (April 13) demanded Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Aleem Khan’s bail arguing that if direct suspects in corruption can have their bails approved easily, then Aleem Khan should be granted bail.

The information minister tweeted, “Aleem Khan’s case is less serious. If those suspects who looted billions from the country can be granted bail so easily, then a businessman who faces no charges of causing any loss to the national exchequer should also be given bail.” “It is a common perception that Aleem has been sentenced in a crime that he did not commit owing to the noise created by the opposition,” he added.

Punjab Local Government Minister, and senior leader of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf leader Aleem were taken into custody by NAB on Feb 6 in cases pertaining to assets beyond means, offshore company, Park View Housing Society, River Age Housing Society, and Multan Road. NAB stated that during his 2005 and 2006 visit to UAE and UK, Aleem Khan made several offshore companies.
